Help a Cat!
Rescue. Love. Adopt a Cat.
About the Shelter
Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue (RMFR) was founded in 1982 with the mission to care for homeless, abandoned, abused, and neglected cat populations. Over the past twenty-five years the organization has grown into a limited-intake, free-roaming shelter with space for 125 cats. In 2016, RMFR provided medical expenses, housing, food, exams, in-house surgeries, and medical treatment for over 1448 animals.
The rescue prioritizes being a safe-space for FIV+, FeLV+, and senior cat populations often under-served by municipal shelter programs. In 2016, RMFR had a euthanasia rate of .5% where 8 of the 1448 animals who came through the shelter were euthanized humanely and only out of medical necessity.
Queens has been in the care of RMFR for over a year now and hasn't found her perfect match yet! She is a sweet girl who loves the yard. She would love a home where she has access to a Catio so she can get her outside fix in in a safe environment!
Nina keeps a watchful eye over the energetic younglings at the shelter. Since arriving at RMFR, she has started peaking out of her shell as she learned to trust humans again.
PetSmart Charities "Big Thanks" Program
2780 S Colorado Blvd, Denver, CO 80222
PetSmart Charities is running their "Big Thanks" program for adoptions done on-site at PetSmart stores. At the end of the year, shelters will receive a financial award for the number of adoptions they perform in PetSmart stores. Please stop by our neighborhood PetSmart, visit our adoptable cats, and show your support for Rocky Mountain Feline Rescue!
The PetSmart Charities Big Thanks Bonus is their way to give back and to say "thank you" for everything local rescues and shelters do for homeless pets in the community. By providing this additional support, they hope to ease some of the financial costs associated with running rescue organizations so we can invest that money in our future.
